Chili Cheese Dog Bake


Ingredients

To embark on this flavorful adventure, gather the following ingredients:



  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) of chili beans, undrained
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) of diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) of tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

Preparing the Chili

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is tender.
  2. Add the Flavor: Stir in the chili beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Assembling the Bake

  2. Slice and Arrange: Slice the hot dogs lengthwise and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer with Chili: Pour the prepared chili over the hot dogs, ensuring they are evenly covered.
  4. Sprinkle with Cheese: Top the chili layer with shredded cheddar cheese, creating a blanket of cheesy goodness.
