Deep Dish Apple Crisp

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a deep dish pie plate or a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Toss everything together until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out into an even layer.
  4. In another mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the topping. Stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the oat mixture and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve the deep dish apple crisp warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Enjoy your delicious Deep Dish Apple Crisp!
