Easy chicken casserole


Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, frozen vegetables, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Fold in the cooked rice or egg noodles until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and melted butter until the breadcrumbs are coated.
  6. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the topping is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Variations:



  • Cheesy Chicken Casserole: Add an extra layer of cheese on top of the casserole before adding the breadcrumb topping for an extra cheesy twist.
  • Vegetable Variation: Feel free to customize the vegetable mix according to your preferences. Broccoli, cauliflower, or bell peppers would all be delicious additions.
  • Herb Infusion: Enhance the flavor of the casserole by adding chopped fresh herbs such as parsley, thyme, or rosemary to the chicken mixture.
